For producers with a small amount of obligation (under 5,000 KG - equivalent to approximately 500 passenger-tires) this option may just be the simplest way to go. Mobius will give you a price for achieving all your collection and recovery obligations.

 

ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT MANUFACTURERS

Manufacturing in Ontario but selling in other jurisdictions? Working with Mobius allows you to exempt yourself from paying recovery fees when you buy from your tire suppliers and remit fees only when you sell your product into Ontario.

 

SPECIALTY TIRES NEED SPECIALTY PRICING

The new regulations include many kinds of tires not included in the previous (OTS) program. At a producer’s request, Mobius is available to develop cost recovery and fee mechanisms to support tire collection and recovery obligations for these types of tires. If you think you might have under-reported historical supply because of these previously exempt categories, Mobius can help review historical data and help manage the process to bring you back into compliance.

 

AUDIT

Producers may need to use an auditor for one or (possibly) two reasons. One reason is to remit an audited report supporting your supply to market in Ontario. Another potential reason would be if you have retail operations and have chosen to charge a visible, external tire recovery fee to consumers. In this case, RPRA requires an audited statement showing that funds collected from consumers are equal to funds paid to achieve recovery obligation. Mobius has an audit firm available that has spent the time to understand the regulatory requirements - so you do not have to spend any time (and money) bringing them up to speed.
